Halloween and the Teal Pumpkin

With Halloween fast approaching, we are buying candy and treats for the Trick-Or-Treaters in our neighborhood. Please consider that some people cannot eat our candy because of the ingredients which might cause allergic reactions. So, how do we include everyone in the fun?

FARE’s Teal Pumpkin Project helps make sure all children will come home from Halloween with something they can enjoy. It just takes a simple act of kindness: offer the option of non-food treats, such as glow sticks or small toys, as an alternative to candy. Then print and hang the Teal Pumpkin sign outside your house to let Trick-O-Treaters know that you have non-food treats available.

You can download and print the Teal Pumpkin by clicking on the Teal Pumpkin on the left. There’s additional information there if you’re curious.
